Erin Lofton (b. 1964) is a visionary American artist in a unique genre. Her sensual expressionistic paintings are interpretations and explorations of beauty and chaos, dreams and visions.  The work explores themes of Nature, Mysticism, and Romance.

Lofton was born and raised in the Hyde Park Historic District of Chicago. During the 1980s, she studied fashion design, painting, and sculpture at Otis Art Institute and Parsons School of Design. After college, she spent a decade traveling on a solo journey, and living in magical destinations like Mount Shasta, Maui, Sedona, Vermont, and high in the Sierra Nevada. Her art was deeply transformed by these experiences.

Artist Statement

I explore the Divine nature of beauty and chaos in life experience and set out to express these observations in my artwork. My paintings honor nature and the old ways with most of the images being a reflection of my own contemplation of the cycle of Life, Death and Rebirth.
